Heat recovery ventilation: fresh air without chilling your home
Heat recovery ventilation (MVHR) constantly renews the air in your home and passes the heat from the outgoing air to the fresh air coming in. There is no need to open windows for ventilation, and the rooms lose less heat.
How it works
- Stale air is drawn out of the bathroom and kitchen.
- In the heat exchanger it gives up its heat, and the two air streams do not mix.
- Fresh, warmed air is delivered to the living room and bedrooms.
What you gain
- A constant supply of fresh air, even with the windows closed
- Lower heat loss than when ventilating through windows
- Less damp and stuffiness
- Filtered air
What we do
We choose a system to suit the building, run the ducts and fit the ventilation unit. We can do this during a renovation, together with the other work, and we also build ventilation systems for flats.
Funding
Heat recovery ventilation can sometimes be installed with funding. The conditions depend on the programme and the location of the project, so we check this with every quote.
